A New Direction.

I've found it very hard to blog about only one subject, or game in this case.  This is due to the amount of hours I spend playing games which has dwindled dramatically in the last few months.

I've cancelled WAR and I had a feeling this was coming.  Ever since I switched servers to hopefully find a more active player base my WAR days were numbered.  I did indeed find a larger population that played during my normal gaming hours and yet I never got the enjoyment out of playing like I did in the short beta experience and a few months after launch.  I honestly don't think it was WAR itself that bored me.  In WoW I had many great friends I met and then my boyfriend played as well.  When I quit WoW I lost that friend group and I think that was what contributed most to the slow decline in my enjoyment of WAR.  I did find a few cool people that I ended up guilding with and got to 40 with, but it just wasn't the same.

I'm hoping that it's not all MMO's that I've burnt out on as I eagerly await Champions Online and currently filling my time with LotRO.  But we shall see.

I've decided to keep this blog up and running (I'm so glad I chose a name that's not WAR exclusive) and hopefully will be able to find more motivation in other games to post about (and play) more often.

Warhammer Alliance (and the WCPI group), thank you so much for allowing me to belong to a great community of bloggers and gamers.  To anyone who reads this, thank you for listening to such a general take on a game that I hope will continue to bring new and exciting things to those who still love it.

Live Event?

Another live event has flown by.  With my vacation right in the middle I was only able to complete 4 out of the 10 tasks.  It was fun being back in Riekland Factory at least.  Though trying to finish some of the tasks at 9:00 pm on the last night isn't the smartest thing to do.  Only one scenario popped and it was right in the middle of a fortress siege.  Ah well.  I can't wait to see the new Land of the Dead.

Bring on more fun!

Seattle!

Well, I'm in Seattle, which means no WAR and no new patch play time.  But I'm on vacation so that doesn't bother me all that much.

I was able to play a bit last night and it was fun to get back into Riekland Factory and play with Delaunay (Archmage).  I do miss playing a rank 40 character.  Haven't had the time to test much else but I was at least able to complete 3 out of the 10 tasks for the Live Event.

Be back after vacation.

Ta!

Dem Bones.

Rise of the Tomb Kings SSWith the upcoming 1.3 patch bringing Land of the Dead and many other nifties, it seems Mythic has again sent out care packages to the community.  This time in the form of skulls and miscellaneous bones with codes to decipher the hieroglyphics some fansites have received.  Read about the blog challenge here.

So far, three sites have received the Cartouches and six blogs have gotten some of keys to decode them. (The following are the North American ones only.  Some European blogs and sites have received presents as well.)

Cartouches:

kotaku.com, mmorpg.com, and massively.com

Keys:

Tome of Knowledge, Da'Toughest, Epic Slant, Keen and Graev, Rainbow MMO, Werit, and Bio Break

I can't wait to see the others that pop up over the next couple weeks.

Here's to Mythic for their entertaining ways to get the community hyped up, and of course for puzzles, cool stuff, and fun times!

Edit: Added another Cartouche site and three more blogs with keys to help decode them.

Another Rank Down.

Not much went on last week for me in terms of WAR (I blame it on The Sims 3).  I did reach Rank 14 and have gone back and maxed out up through Ch. 5 influence.  If the Dwarf side of Barak Varr is anything like the Greenskin side then I'm going to have a hard time of leveling there.  When I was questing there with my Shaman I was too low of a rank and it took too long to kill mobs.  It made leveling through there very frustrating (though I could have gone and done some grinding ... ugh).  I'm hoping that won't be the case this time.

Still enjoying the Runepriest though the non-RP guild I joined (on Phoenix Throne) has already started to get quiet.  Not unexpected, just sooner than I thought.  We'll see how it goes.
