Dem Bones.
With the upcoming 1.3 patch bringing Land of the Dead and many other nifties, it seems Mythic has again sent out care packages to the community. This time in the form of skulls and miscellaneous bones with codes to decipher the hieroglyphics some fansites have received. Read about the blog challenge here.
So far, three sites have received the Cartouches and six blogs have gotten some of keys to decode them. (The following are the North American ones only. Some European blogs and sites have received presents as well.)
Cartouches:
kotaku.com, mmorpg.com, and massively.com
Keys:
Tome of Knowledge, Da'Toughest, Epic Slant, Keen and Graev, Rainbow MMO, Werit, and Bio Break
I can't wait to see the others that pop up over the next couple weeks.
Here's to Mythic for their entertaining ways to get the community hyped up, and of course for puzzles, cool stuff, and fun times!
Edit: Added another Cartouche site and three more blogs with keys to help decode them.
This can’t be right.
This post reminded me of something I witnessed last night during some scenarios. It may be that I just don't know of this spiffy secret move, but I didn't think it was possible for Destruction to get to the Supply Room in the Gates of Ekrund scenario before Order could. I had just run up the ramp to capture it with my group when I saw that a Choppa (or some Orc class) had already gotten there.
Then during either the same scenario or a different one (but still Gates of Ekrund) we were fighting near that same flag when it seemed like a Choppa (?) came out of nowhere. Now at the time I waved it off, thinking he just came around and flanked from behind. It was strange enough though, that I'm still not sure how he actually did that. Was it cheating, some sweet trick, or did he just run up from behind?
I can't imagine that Mythic would put that sort of thing in the game even if it was a super exclusive power/unlock/achievement.
Hm. I'll have to pay more attention the next time to see if they're cheating or not.
Please enlighten me if you know anything I don't.
New look.
I have been diligently working on the look and setup I want for this blog. Meaning I stayed up way too late last night.
I thought I would run it past my audience before setting it up in HTML. Let me know what you think.
Also, if any of you know how to get around using that big long disclaimer from the fan site kit and still give Mythic credit I'm all ears.

Edit: New revision.
So far Beyond the Sands.
The current Live Event is in full swing as all the items have been revealed. Many people have already maxed out their influence for the Aviator Goggles and have either completed or almost completed all the tasks for the title unlock.
So far, I am enjoying this Live Event. I haven't been able to get much play-time in, but I have managed to get at least half the tasks completed. Plus what could be better than Egyptian themed content?! I'm close to gaining max influence for the goggles and I'm hoping I can get through all the tasks for the title "The Eternal" this weekend. It's been quite enjoyable to run out to Thunder Mountain, join a warband (as you're almost guaranteed to find there) and help slaughter (or heal in my case) all the massing Destruction.
The only gripe I have would be the Destruction out in Thunder Mountain killing me while I'm solo. I'm just trying to finish the darn quests in that zone. So /boo /hiss on the quests in RvR areas. I'll have to round up some guildies next time I try. Always a good idea to go with backup.
Now that I've collected the trophy from this event I'm going to have to reorganize and redo how I've got all the other trophies displayed. It's just not jiving with the current setup. Too bad we can only have 5 trophies slotted. I've also managed to finish the quest for the pocket item (my first!): Bone Ward. A long cooldown (60m I think) but cool to have.
Another exciting Live Event to get players together. Good job Mythic.
WCPI # 6: Warhammer Alliance.
Warhammer Alliance is always full of fun and informative polls, has up to date information on anything WAR, and juicy tidbits from the Mythic staff. They even share it all with us!
Today they've just posted the results of an interview with Mark Davis about the new Tomb Kings and Land of the Dead material.
Head on over and check it out.
