Weekly Favorite: Armor Dying & Trophies.
This Weekly Favorite is short but sweet:
Armor dying and trophies.
I never liked how WoW still has not added at least armor dying to the game. If I had ever gotten a complete gear set, I'd look exactly like the other Priest in the raid. I'm very much into looking how I want to look. WAR has many dying options and trophies to establish your character as YOU and not the same as everyone else. This makes me all warm inside.
Bootae has a great post about his Chosen and how he loves that not everyone has to look exactly the same in end game gear. Dont over at Blame the Healer has a post about the new Welcome Back quests and the trophies you get as rewards. I'll definitely have to go grab those items.
As with many others, RL has been extremely active this week and I apologize for not updating as often I should be. I hope to be posting regularly soon.
WCPI Week 3.
Yet another WCPI post.
This week I'd like to bring your attention to a fairly new blog that has caught my eye.
Not only do her and her hubby play WAR, so do their little girls (parent supervision required being that they're only 6 and 8 years old). This blog is written from Mom's point of view about the adventures the family goes through in WAR and how they're balancing play time and life time. Reading the mom's take on how the girls feel about the game and how they play is surprisingly interesting. And refreshing. Nothing like a child's mind to bring a whole new perspective to this game.
So please, head over to her blog and check it out.

Ha ha, just kidding.
I've done it! I've finally hit rank 40. It's just in time too. My guild (Ordo Malleus) needed another healer as they're attempting to push on to Lost Vale. I know that I'm a ways off in terms of gear but now at least I can work towards that.
My first hours as 40 was fun, new, long, frustrating, then boring.
Fun/New/Long: After a short congratulations I was immediately ordered to head to Black Crag as our Alliance was about to head to a planned fortress siege. Making it there just in time I was able to participate in my first succesfull fortress take. We then rode out and headed to Chaos Wastes captured the BO's and took the keeps. We camped out near the Destruction warcamp and guarded the zone for the 2 hours (that long?) needed before we headed up to The Maw.
Frustrating: I went into this whole siege thing new and not expecting anything other than a thanks for helping. The first fortress went down and I think I ended up 88th. Fine by me, this was my first attempt at this sort of thing. But somehow during the second fortress attack I was lucky enough to place 13th. Gold bag! OMG OMG OMG. How does that work? This is super cool! I think I actually had butterflies. So I made it past the wall of people into the lord room. But guess what? There were so many people standing on, near, and around the box that my timer ran out before I could even click on it. Not to mention the dead bird thing sitting on top of it too. I know I wasn't the only one shorted the loot either. Region chat was a mess at that point. I've never been so mad at stupidity and just plain rudeness before. Oh well, not much I can do about that now.
Boring: We capped the fortress and moved on to the Inevitable City. Woo! We must have waited a bit too long to get into the city PQ's as our warband was put into a queue. After defending the couple waves of Destro that showed up we realized we were most likely not going to make it in. So we tried the suggestion of dropping group, logging out, logging back in, and jumping in singly. That seemed to work except not all of were able to make it into the same instance. I ended up being separated from my guild into a constantly losing PQ. I played until we were finally kicked out of the city. We were close, but not close enough to make it to the next stage. But holy Hell was I bored. It didn't help that I was in Vent listening to the rest of my guild dominating the one they were in.
Overall, it was fun though. Hitting 40 and participating in my first city siege wasn't a bad way to start my rank 40 career. I look forward to trying this again (hopefully with better success).
Feeding the addiction.
Here I go again with my little addiction ... alt # 13 and 14 are now created: Sarene (Slayer) and Kaeleer (Runepriest). Those two mean I've just maxed out the characters I can make on my Order server. That didn't take long. I'm not really attached to the name Sarene though, so I'm holding off playing him until I figure out if I like it or not.
While all those who unlocked the Slayer/Choppa early are leveling, I of course had to go and start leveling a Runepriest. Healer at heart remember?!
Kaeleer has reached rank 5 in just a short time and it's been fun. I was amazed at how many other careers were running around the Dwarven starting zone. It seems on many other servers Slayers and Choppas are running rampant even before the general population gets to play them. Unless I missed the rush by a day, Vortex seems to have avoided the Slayer wave. We are outnumbered with them yes, but I don't see the umpteen amount others are talking about. I like that.
Slayers are definitely not meant for tanking. While maxing out my Ch. 1 PQ influence I noticed that a Slayer had accidentally pulled the Stage III hero. I kept him alive as long as I could but he ended up dying right before we could kill the boss. Towards the end an Engineer helped out along with one other I believe. It was actually a ton of fun. A great challenge and I'm happily surprised I was able to keep him alive as long as I did. I haven't had that much fun in a PQ in a long time. Seems the High Elf lands are a bit empty towards the end. Actually they've been like that for awhile now. I for one am gladly looking forward to the server merges.
With my Runepriest I've decided to install and use Tome Titan. With my Archmage I didn't want to cheat myself out of the surprises and so I know I've missed many things. I'm good with that. Being as I've hit rank 39 and almost done with the level grind I don't think I'd be cheating anymore with this addon. Of course, it does many other things than just showing me the random unlocks in the world but I'm not sure how much more of this addon I'll use. I've heard great things about it so I may end up never knowing how I lived without it.
